Colm is the principal and founder of Colm Murphy & Co. and has been qualified and practising as a Solicitor in excess of thirty years. Colm practices in most areas of law with emphasis on commercial and private conveyancing, probate and wills, all areas of litigation, and family law and has a particular interest in Collaborative Family Law. Colm is also a Commissioner for Oaths.
In 1990 Colm Murphy set up offices at Main Street, Castleknock and in Dublin City with a staff of one legal executive. The firm has since expanded and Colm Murphy & Co. pride themselves on being a family run practice which at all times bears the client's best interest at heart.
Colm is actively engaged in alternative dispute resolution models as an alternative to litigation and other traditional adversarial systems. He has a particular interest in providing peaceful options to parties in the area of family law, which can minimise the trauma of marital disputes.
Colm is a member of the national Board of the Association of Collaborative Practitioners and of the West Dublin-Meath Collaborative Practice Group.
Colm graduated with a bachelor of Civil Laws from University College Dublin and obtained a Diploma in Mediation and Conflict Intervention from NUI Maynooth, (2011) with practical assessment by the Mediators’ Institute of Ireland and is a Certified member of Mediators Institute of Ireland.
